i got a new typewriter

now my blue typewriter has a new friend. interestingly, the pink one has slightly smaller typeface, and the keys are lighter to the touch. nothing sexist about that i hope. i made a little piece about them, so will post that too shortly.

this is a photo of my mannequin 'eve'. its really quite old, and a hand print from the darkroom, but its covered with scratches and dents, which i quite like.

last summer we were in sweden with my brother and his family.

poster for basket exhibition

i was asked to design a poster / flyer for the Oxfordshire Basketmaker's Association exhibition. I photographed some baskets i have made, and the first idea i came up with was with a little grass basket that i had woven in my garden. Joanna Gilmour (a link to her incredible work later) oversaw the project. We then decided to use a Banbury cake basket because of the local reference. The Banbury cake basket is a traditional design, which i was lucky enough to learn on a course run by Oxford Basketmakers and taught by the amazing Mary Butcher
